Old US National Security Agency (NSA) listening station, built on top of an artificial hill in Berlin, which used to be part of the English division of the city.
The hill was built after the Second World War with the rubble of destroyed West-Berlin and covers a never-completed nazi military college that turned up to be too difficult to blow up with dynamite.
The wire-tappings began in 1961, targeting nations of the Soviet Block.
All NSA operations ended after the fall of the Berlin Wall, thirty years later.
