.
7-kilometer long landing strip which was part of a military airbase project decided by the Khmer Rouge government and launched in 1977 near Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia.
It was built using forced labor, most of the workers who were sent here were considered as treaters by the regime.
Estimates range from 10.000 to 50.000 workers who were killed or mysteriously disappeared during the two years of construction.
As this project was never fully completed, no plane ever took off or landed there, and the site was abandoned after the fall of the Khmer Rouge in 1979.
